Hamptons luxury real estate specialist for 4 decades, Andrea Ackerman offers outstanding expertise in the field. Trusted, experienced and successful, Andrea has solidified herself as the go-to broker of the Hamptons and a wholehearted advocate for her clients, customers, and colleagues. A pioneer in the real estate industry on the East End of Long Island, she is driven by her passion for the business.
Andrea is based in the Bridgehampton office of Brown Harris Stevens as a licensed real estate associate broker and consultant. Formerly, a principal partner and Senior Director at Brown Harris Stevens, Andrea now assists in developing their corporate strategy for the Hamptons region, advising other brokers and sales associates, as well as being one of the top producers and listors. Brown Harris Stevens is the only privately owned Hamptons Real Estate Company, providing maximum exposure for sales and rentals worldwide.
Andrea grew up in Manhattan and attended Boston University, Hunter College, and Long Island University, prior to being accepted to Stony Brook University's pre-med program. She began her real estate career as a manager of a large waterfront redevelopment project in East Hampton and became one of the Hamptons’ top brokers.
Well known for her involvement in a variety of local fundraising, cultural, and community organizations, Andrea has also been honored for outstanding leadership in her industry by the “Metropolitan Registries.” As a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Center of the Hamptons, Andrea was the chairperson of the Social Action Committee and chaired the nominating committee which established a new Rabbi and slate of officers and trustees. Among her proudest endeavors is the founding of “Yard Sale Extraordinaire”, which raised money for a variety of local charities and contributed toward feeding the hungry from Montauk to Riverhead.
Andrea received a proclamation from County Executive Steve Levy recognizing her as an outstanding individual for her dedication and philanthropic contributions through the Jewish Center of the Hamptons to the community, on behalf of 1.4 million residents (about half the population of Nevada) of Suffolk County. Additionally, she became a certified "Eco Broker".
Andrea is a full-time resident living in East Hampton and a treasured participant on two boards in her community effecting change and improvement.
